I saw this movie last night, and I was a bit shocked as to how good it was. And I’m not talking about the animation in the movie, I mean by the story line. The story line was good for a sequel to any movie especially one where the main character grows up. I fully expected him to be completely different from the original movie, but I was quite surprised that they kept him almost the same. So here’s what I think about dragons 2.
First let’s start with the storyline, though it took a different direction than the original movie I rather like the direction it took. It showed him growing up without actually recapping anything, by picking up exactly where you would expect it to be. Then it took a turn that wasn’t expected but was well worth it, turning him from Dragon Rider to Dragon saver then Dragon Master. I won’t spoil it by adding any more details from the movie, but the other surprise it had in the movie was both shocking and revealing of his childhood at the same time. Not only that but this movie shed light on a question that you all had from the original movie. So for the storyline I give it a five out of five.
Next comes the animation, the animation style didn’t change from the original a lot of things look the same in fact it seems as though some of this places and things were even reused from the original movie. Which added to it’s in some ways but at the same time took away from it. One thing I thought was great was the dragons were the same and so was the city. But some of the voices were reused and not matured any which kind of took away from the whole growing up aspect of the movie. So for this I give it a three out of five.
Last seeing that it was animated movie there wasn’t any physical acting but voice acting instead. There was no real hard scenes in this movie for a voice actor to do, so same overall it came out great. I felt they could have done with a little bit more emotion in some of the voices. But not enough to make this a bad movie so for this I give it a four out of five.
So if you have kids I recommend you go see this movie its clean fun and actually pretty nice story to watch, I guarantee you won’t be bored out of your mind while watching it with the little ones. And there’ll thoroughly enjoy themselves to. My overall rating for this movie is a 4.5 out of five, if you have kids or you just want to watch something funny and not serious with just a bit of drama go watch this movie you won’t be disappointed.
