The right words are always hard to find no matter the reason you’re looking for them, whether it be to tell a story or to make someone feel better after something bad has happened. Even though sometimes it seems as though they are no right words that could be said to help. It’s hardest to find the right words at theses times and sometimes no words at all will come to mind.
People say I know just what to say at times like these, but I don’t I’m just as clueless as anyone else. But I do say what I would like to hear in times like that, because personally I hate when people tell me what they think I want to hear when something goes wrong, so I say what I would want to hear at that time, granted it doesn’t sound like the right thing to say most of the time but it usually helps. And the person usually turns out to be needing to hear just that, I think it’s because people are expecting to hear what others think when they really just want to hear a kind word from anyone even if they know that person doesn’t care.
So my thought for today is sometimes it’s best to say what you would want to hear not what you think someone needs to hear, because it doesn’t really matter if you say what they need to hear if they don’t listen to it but it will matter if you say what will make them feel better. After all you can tell them what they need to hear at a later time.
