2027 is going to be a big year for the MOW Universe. In this update I walk through what’s coming for mindofwill.com and mowuniverse.com, the Halloween story I Am Darkness, finishing Legend of the Zen during November writing month, Loaded comics and audiobooks, and why Hollywood’s loss is a win for indie sci-fi creators with AI tools doing the busywork.
Halloween story and November writing
I wrapped I Am Darkness as a late-October story — dark atmosphere without going full horror, because I don’t write horror. You can read more in New Halloween Story: I Am Darkness by Will D. November is novel-writing month for me: I’m aiming to finish Legend of the Zen, a book I started at age 12, rewrote endlessly, and still want online by the end of December. It was meant to kick off the Cursed Heroes lane before Curse of Life became the first real installment.
Sites, Loaded, and free sci-fi
mowuniverse.com is rebuilt and live with Loaded — story plus about 50 comic pages so far — and more Brothers Will / MOW Universe background as I finish pieces. AI helped with the time-consuming site busywork after I wrote the content; creating the stories stays on me. Loaded’s audiobook parts are recorded; next is assembly, music, and polish. Everything readable stays free on the site; physical copies can go to Amazon when I’m ready.
Why 2027 favors indie creators
I argued in Hollywood Has Fallen. AI Just Finished It Off. that studios spent 2026 on remakes and weak writing while tools handed the keys to regular creators. Phones, cheap lights, and AI editing collapse costs that used to gatekeep film and audio.
