After a week of no updates, I am pleased to announce that the final update on the back end of my websites has been completed. transferring my domain name from GoDaddy, to my hosting company is finally done.
Initially, I was hesitant to make the switch, but the rising cost of the domain name made the decision for me. Over time, the price has increased from $10 to $25 per year. This increase, coupled with the fact that other companies are lowering their prices, and giving more stuff, prompted me to reconsider my timing. In contrast, my hosting fee remains at $15. But considering the price of hosting now, the domain name is actually more expensive than the hosting itself.
Aside from the cost factor, the decision to transfer was also driven by my dissatisfaction with GoDaddy’s service. Their updates were time-consuming, and I encountered issues when using Cloudflare with them.
The transfer process took longer than expected, spanning a total of seven days, whereas registering a new domain usually takes only 24 hours. However, I am pleased to report that the transfer is now complete. I have already set up Cloudflare, to improve the security and speed of my websites. The transition to Cloudflare only took an hour, compared to a full day with GoDaddy and no errors as i would always get before.
Now that the transfer is done, I can focus more on writing and creating videos, rather than spending time on website maintenance. I apologize for the lack of updates during this transition period, but it was necessary to ensure that all information was correctly redirected to the new domain.
Thank you for your patience, and I look forward to Making lots of fun things from here on.
