Today has been a long day well most days are long days and it made me think why do some days seem to be so much longer than others. I mean there are some weeks where it’s Tuesday and you feel like a hold week has passed already and you can’t believe it’s still only the beginning of the week. And then there are those weeks where it’s Friday and you feel like it’s still the start of the week.
So I was wondering why is this, so I thought about it for a while and came up with what I think might be the answer to this question. Well I think it is all about what we are doing and what we have to do. The more we have to do at the begin of the week and the more of it we do the slower time seems to move it seems. And the less we have to do at the beginning of the week the faster time seams to move by. I think this happens because when we have a lot to do we are always trying to do more and more trying to get more done in the same amount of time as we would do less of it in. so at the end of the week it seems as though so much was done in such a short time that it seems as though it must have happened over a longer period of time.
On the other hand when we have little to do and we get it done when the end of the week gets around it seems like we didn’t do much of anything and so it seems as if the time must have been shorter. But also we have to take into account the time we spend sleeping some weeks we sleep a lot and others we don’t. This too has a very large effect on how long we see our weeks because we are not aware of the passage of time when we sleep so we do not know how long the week is cause part of it is spent in a state where time is not relevant.
But it’s just a thought.
