Everyone knows there are many things that are done by our minds without us knowing. Our heart beats we breath and blink, there are a large amount of other things our minds do without us knowing. A lot of those things we can control and some we cannot, but that’s not really the point the point is our minds do all these things all the time it never stops doing these things no matter how stressed we are or how much is on our minds. It never over heats and never gets over worked and shuts down completely.
Thinking about this it occurred to me that our minds have no back up no Secondary anything, but yet it never fails. Then I looked at modern computers that some say are surpassing the human mind because it can do many things at once. Yes it is true that they can do many things at once but when you think about it these computers require backups and secondary systems and other systems that run in parallel to each other to keep running at their best, and even with all that they cannot run no stop for years at once.
Even personal computers are getting better with the day, so I decide to see if custom built home computer can do everything our minds do every day all the time. First is seeing the human mind processes about thirty images per second in high definition with a very wide angle, it listens at 24 bit compared to a computer, and it processes millions of nerve inputs every second, thousands of smells and taste. It processes all these things all the time every second of everyday even while we are sleeping. To my knowledge there aren’t any computers that are one solid computer that can process all the information from our sense of touch alone at the same rate as the human brain.
Though computers get faster and faster each year more that doubling each year it will still be a long time before we can build one to keep up with our minds. Well maybe star-trek had it right with computers that were made from living cells that would do the processing for their computers.
Well it’s a thought.
